Digicel Extends its Influence to Build First Mariott Hotel in Haiti
Digcel CEO Denis O'Brien is once again investing heavily in Haiti. This time, the telecommunication millionaire will partner with the CEO of Marriott Hotels, Bill Marriott, to open the first Marriott Hotel in Haiti. Scheduled to open in 2014, the 173-room hotel will be built in the Turgeau section of Port-au- Prince. It will cost 45 million dollars. His Digicel Foundation also supports the building of homes and schools in Haiti. In 2014, O'Brien will oversee the opening of the first Digicel funded, Haitian Marriott Hotel.
