The Little Princess Exists Everywhere - Not only in Haiti

While the CNN documentary, Rescued,  focuses our attention on the plight of Haiti's orphaned and homeless children, let us not forget as we seek to improve conditions in Haiti,  that the challenge of providing  care for poor and marginalized children  exists everywhere. Here in the United States, there are more than 1 million children who are either on the streets or in foster care. Like the orphans of Haiti, they too need to be rescued. All children deserve infrastructures in place to prevent them from being abused, neglected, and exploited.  All our children:

Need access to education.
Need access to health care.
Need stable families who have access to family planning services.
Need parents and caregivers who are employed and able to provide their children with security and a loving home.

The Children of Haiti Need Schools

Do you wonder what it's like to go to school in Haiti?  Look at this link to  a You Tube video produced in cooperation with the Delegation of  the European Commission in Haiti. In the video, we get a chance to see a young girl named Jessica as she attends school in the town of Port-a-Piment, Haiti.  Jessica is among the very fortunate children of Haiti who have an opportunity to attend school.
